VIDEO: Suggestions for Tree Respect During Construction

A big old Red Oak tree in a park in New Jersey is just one of many that were hurt during construction.

I'm not picking on this park... I mean this advice for anywhere that construction is being done around trees.

This is my message to construction contractors and to municipalities who might be designing projects, especially around big old trees: TREES ARE CONSCIOUS BEINGS!

Please treat them with respect. Please make plans to avoid hurting the trees, including the roots, by going the "extra mile" with things like altering designs or getting an extra length of pipe so as not to cut roots.
